Jessica D

Position Liaison Officer Responsibilities Member Relations, Communications, Administration, Technical Assistance, Summary ExecutionsHailing from the land of the Beavers, with a degree in Animal Sciences from Oregon State University, Jessica was swept up by the wave of social networking, and fell in love with it from day one. She had originally intended to become an Indiana Jones-esque paleo-archeologo-painter-musician-veterinarian, but life and the social networking bug bit hard and sent her down a unique and exciting path. 2012 marked her arrival to Zurker, where she was welcomed by both co-founders in her new role. She hopes to help make Zurker an even more awesome and exciting place to be. When not adventuring through the depths of the internet, Jessica enjoys training dogs, gardening, crafting, video games, and just being plain silly. She plans to one day have a menagerie of animals in her backyard farm. On Zurker, Jessica is Jess D.

Shavkat Karimov

Position CFO Responsibilities Finance, Public Relations, Business Development, Product Development, Legal, Intellectual PropertyAlthough Shavkat earned degrees in International Law and Film Directing and went on to create an award-winning shorts series, he recognized early on the entrepreneurial potential of the web and proceeded to build up a successful business powered by a network of hundreds of websites. While Shavkat is one of the few to have developed a successful net enterprise from scratch, he has so far resisted pleas to brand himself as an Internet guru and develop a cult following, because, unlike many self-proclaimed gurus, he doesn't need to make money by teaching how to make money. When he is not snapping up websites or brainstorming strategic plans for new projects, Shavkat likes to keep his skills sharp by researching new technologies and developments in the fields of SEO, online marketing, and social media. Originally from Uzbekistan, Shavkat is fluent in Uzbek and Russian besides English, and divides his time between the World traveling and residing in Florida. Shavkat is married to his beautiful wife who provides him with much of the spiritual energy to manage his numerous projects. His loves to zurk fresh ideas, exciting games, interesting people, and funny things. On Zurker, Shavkat is cineman.

Nick Oba

Position CEO Responsibilities Application Development, System Administration, Security, Washing BottlesNick Oba was born in Belgrade, on a hot summer day, ensuring that nobody would ever come to his birthday parties. Growing up, Nick was convinced that he would end up either as an evil scientist or a homeless drunk, but in 1995, Nick discovered the Internet, quickly becoming a web developer (called a 'webmaster' back in those days). Nick made a two-page spread in Webmaster magazine and eventually specialized in the production of original web applications. In 2010, Nick managed to talk an unsuspecting gentleman named Shavkat Karimov into buying one of his websites, which employed crowdsourcing - aka community power - to make crucial publishing decisions.Mr Karimov and Nick proceeded to collaborate closely on a number of projects. Then one day Nick had a brilliant idea - why not set up a chain of squid-themed restaurants? Mr Karimov wasn't interested, so Nick suggested developing a community-powered, member-owned social network. The rest is history in the making. Nick is a happily divorced father of two energetic young sons, whom he refers to as Hurricane 1 andHurricane 2. On those rare occasions when he is not working, Nick loves spending time yelling at his children to quieten down so he can get back to work. Nick likes curries, cats, and satire.
